This course will give you ideas and practical tips on ways to communicate more effectively to reduce misunderstanding and conflict, either 1-to-1 or with groups of people, and face-to-face, in writing, text/e-mail and other ways you interact with others.

About the Event

Objectives

· By the end of this course, you will be able to

· Describe who you need to give information from and to

· Explain how your communication ‘filter’ can undermine your communication skills

· List all the ways you communicate at work and choose the best ones in a variety of situations

· Describe the 3 parts of good communication

· Find ways to build rapport with others

· Use the Johari window to understand how our self-awareness limits communication, and how open feedback can help minimise this

· Outline what it meant by ‘Transactional Analysis’ and use it to avoid certain types of conflict

· Avoid using your own and others ‘dramas’ when communicating

· Assess how you use certain types of ‘meta-language’ when communicating

· Chosen better ways of communicating on a key issue of your own
