About the Event

About this event

After a successful inaugural session in November 2020 on Respiratory Disease in the context of COVID-19. Dr Irem Patel, Dr Rachna Chowla, and Dr Alanna Hare are organising a second Respiratory Medicine Short course in Primary Care. The main aim of this course is to provide a primary care update on diagnosis, management, and common pitfalls in planning care for patients with airways disease.

The course is open to all but may be of particular interest to primary care multidisciplinary teams especially GP Nurses, Pharmacists, and GPs.

Presentations will be focussed on diagnosis and management of airways disease in the primary care setting and guidance on where integrated care might help, and when to refer to secondary or tertiary care.

Hear from expert speakers from across the Partnership with interesting session structures we are calling 'Heads Together'.

'Heads Together' sessions will have a minimum of two speakers one from Primary Care and one from a King's Health Partners Partnership site. The sessions are designed to deliver high quality teaching and learning outcomes through a dialogue-based approach.

Session topics will include:

1. What's new in asthma?

2. High Value Care in COPD

3. What do I do with my patient who has both Asthma and COPD?

4. How can I help my breathless patients feel better and do more? Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
